Tomato – Amber Coloured

A small/medium sized yellow/amber coloured fruit on 2ft bushy Determinate plants.

Description

We grew Amber Coloured for the first time in 2013. The seeds were from Tomatofest and their description is “A favourite Russian heirloom. Large bushy plant that produces 2-inch amber-coloured globes. Very good sweet flavours with just enough acid balance to enhance the taste.”

It was very similar to Gold Dust (a determinate variety which looks as though it has a similar colour) and produced slightly more weight of fruit in both 2013 and 2014 however, as with most Determinate varieties, we struggled to find the right space to grow them as they take up more ground space in the polytunnel than Indeterminate varieties.
