Tomato – Berkeley Tie Dye

A Pink/Green striped small Beefsteak, Open Pollinated tomato on Indeterminate plants

Description

We grew this for the first time in 2017 and then again in 2019 when, like most of our tomatoes that year, it didn’t do very well. We will grow it again to give us a decent comparison to other similar tomatoes such as Cherokee Purple.

The compact plants produced beautiful small beefsteak, 8-12 ounce fruit with a very sweet, rich, dark flavour.

I’m not sure if this is “Pink Berkley Tie Dye” bred by Brad Gates in California or the original Berkeley Tie Dye from which it is claimed it was selected (if there’s a difference) however, it tastes good.
