Tomato Dancing with Smurfs

A blue cherry tomato on Indeterminate vines.

Description

Another blue cherry tomato from the 2019 seed swap.

The web suggests that this was first created at the Oregon State University and further developed by Tom Wagner (a well know tomato breeder) and released in 2012.

My guess is that its colour will depend upon the amount of sunshine so we’ll have to see how it does in the UK.

2020

April: The seeds germinated well and the plants are growing nicely. They have a slight purplish tinge which is not unexpected.
July: Whilst not the very first to show colour, they started to ripen 61 days after planting.
August: Picked – nothing really special about the flavour, a cultivar more for its colour than taste I would suggest.

Buy Your Seeds Here

Prices given are for a packet of seeds (and may be wrong) different suppliers have different numbers of seeds in a packet.

A difficulaty with getting seeds from a seeds swap is that you’ve no idea where the “swapper” got the original seeds from or whether they’re still available. We’ve not bought seeds from this organisation so cannot comment on their quality
