Tomato Golden Queen

A medium sized yellow heritage tomato on indeterminate plants.

Description

This medium/large yellow tomato is historically important as it was introduced in 1882 by Livingston as a really good, highly flavoured yellow medium/large tomato on a regular leafed indeterminate plant. The original description says it is excellent for slicing and eating raw as well as making preserves and was probably one of the very first decent quality yellow tomatoes to be introduced.

We grew this for the first time in 2017 and it lives up to its predictions. Its tasty, reasonably early ripening and a fair number seem to ripen at the same time. It certainly has a better flavour than many similar sized yellow tomatoes and, if that is what you’re after, its probably the best we have grown.
