Tomato Kanner Hoell

Red, beefsteak heritage tomato on indeterminate plants.

Description

An Indeterminate, Regular Leafed, Red Beefsteak tomato from Seeds Savers Exchange (in the USA). The person who donated the original seeds (Reverend C Frank Morrow) said that the cultivar had originated in Germany and had been in his family since 1916.

We grew this for the first time in 2017 and it cropped well, large regular shaped tomatoes ripening in earlymid September (for us) which is not bad considering that the year has been very peculiar for tomatoes with high temperatures early in the year, followed by cool temperatures through July and August with dark days and lots of rain.

It compares well with the many red beefsteak varieties.
