Tomato Moonglow

Large Orange/Yellow round tomato on Indeterminate plants

Description

Grown for the first time in 2018 with seeds from a seed swap, we were interested to see how this grew. Wow, a heavy cropping large round tomato comparable to beefsteak tomatoes, our grew to about 8 ounces and there were lots of fruit on the vines (despite the fact that we didn’t take off any of the sideshoots).

In terms of taste it was an excellent flavoured Orange tomato but (for some unknown reason) this year I haven’t grown Summer Cider so I can’t compare it against what I consider the best. It certainly ripened well with full sized fruit in mid August but then 2018 has been an early year (because of the hot June & July) so I can’t compare it against Summer Cider. I’m also not weighing/counting individual fruit this year so I can’t say how it compares.

Next year a comparison is due. Summer Cider vs Moonglow.
