Tomato Pink Moineau/Petit Moineau

Small Red Cherry tomato on Indeterminate plants.

Description

From the 2018 Seed Swap. This page will be updated as we find out more information.

The web describes it as having small currant tomatoes on an indeterminate vine. This concerned me slightly in that it sounded very similar to Peacevine which we grew in 2018 for the first (and last) time. Whilst the tiny tomatoes had a reasonable taste, they were hard to pick and split very easily on a rampant plant these characteristics mean that (in all honesty) I won’t be growing them again.

Well fortunaely, it isn’t like Peacevine, as you can see the fruit, whilst small, are much larger than Peacevine, more like Red Berry or Christmas Grapes but a little darker. They’re also thin skinned (which I like) sweet and without the hint of tartness that you get with many cherry tomatoes. The trusses are quite small (not many fruit) so it becomes difficult to know whether I would grow this in preference to any other red cherry tomato.
