Medium sized pear shaped red heritage tomato on determinate plants.
Description
Rio Grande is a deep red large, pear shaped, tomato which produces good crops of fruit on vigorous determinate plants which can be grown indoors or outdoors.
The fruit is similar in size and shape to Roma but grows on a determinate plant.
The plant has good disease resistance and the tomatoes are ideal for cooking with limited numbers of seeds and lots of flesh.
We had a problem with these when we grew them in that all but one of the fruit suffered from Blossom End Rot. We haven’t grown it again because there are other, more productive cultivars.
