Distinctive green striped medium sized open pollinated tomato on indeterminate plants.
Description
Green Zebra is a mid-sized tart tomato with distinctive green and yellow stripes. The indeterminate, regular-leafed plant produces good quantities of the round, distinctively green and yellow striped fruit.
Another tomato bred by Tom Wagner and released in the early 1980s, its part of his striped and green family of tomatoes. Parent of Red Zebra and other Zebra tomatoes, it is still only “Open Pollinated” but we like it and grow it when we have space.
Picked whilst still green and yellow they add distinctive colour to salads and are a sharp acidic flavour. If left to ripen fully, they become yellow and the fruit can be somewhat “mealy”. Best eaten whilst still striped.
