Unusual red multi-berried open pollinated tomato on straggly indeterminate plants.
Description
A very unusual tomato this one, heavily fluted to the point where it appears to be a bunch of grapes rather than a single tomato although the individual pieces can be easily separated. Originating from Guatemala, it has a reasonable flavour and is worthwhile growing just for its oddity. The name is thought to derive from the German “reise” (travel) and the suggestion is that the individual berries can be torn off and eaten as you go along.
We grew this for the first time in 2017 and had some problems with the individual fruit going mouldy. I don’t think we’ll grow it again.
