Medium sized red plum heritage tomato on indeterminate plants.
Description
San Marzano is fleshy, sweet plum tomato with few seeds. Longer and thinner than Roma, the flesh is thicker and the taste stronger, sweeter and less acidic. Ideal for cooking or canning. The indeterminate, regular-leafed plant can produce a heavy mid season crop.
Needs to be staked to get the best benefit. Indoor or outdoor growing.
We struggle with Italian varieties of tomato (of which this is one) as we don’t (I guess) have enough sun and heat so we find the cooler climate American, Russian and UK varieties do better.
