Red/Yellow striped long plum shaped open pollinated tomato on indeterminate plants.
Description
Speckled Roman (aka Striped Roman) is a long plum shaped red tomato with yellow stripes grows on strong but wispy leaved plants. Its an intentional cross of Antique Roman and Banana Legs stabilised in the early 2000s.
We grew this for the first time in 2017 and the plant was strong and vigorous and produced a good quantity of fruit over a reasonable period of time.
As well as being good for cooking, it also tastes good raw in salads or on sandwiches unlike many of the paste tomatoes.
