Sitting quietly in the garden I watched the Blue Tits dashing in and out of the birdbox. They were delivering food to their young family hopping in and out about every ten minutes (or less). Its virtually impossible to get a still picture as they hop around for a few moments before leaping into the birdbox but a video gives a sense of what they are doing.
The nestbox has been where it is for a few years up in a tree covered in ivy. Our only concern is the Greater Spotted Woodpeckers which have been known to reach in and take the nestlings. Once they’ve found the nest, nothing stops them until the nest is empty.
We just have to hope.
