Medium sized yellow heritage tomato on indeterminate plants.
Description
Golden Sunrise is a golden-yellow medium sized tomato with a sweet, distinctive flavour. The indeterminate, regular-leafed plant produces a good crop of early/mid, round, golden-yellow medium sized fleshy tomatoes. Whilst it is one of the best standard sized yellow tomatoes as it has a distinctive, good flavour, we have found that you have to be very careful not to allow it to go overripe as the taste and texture go “off” very quickly, leaving you with a soft, “mealy flavoured” tomato. Ideal for greenhouse or outdoor growing (although it is not resistant to blight).
We had a similar comment from one of our readers “Grew in 2021, fairly good yield in greenhouse and outside, did not like the flavour, sweet but no tomato flavour” which is possibly back to picking it exactly ripe.
Can be used in salads where their colour complements the red and black varieties
A reader reports: “Grew in UK Midlands in 2021, fairly good yield in greenhouse and outside, did not like the flavour, sweet but no tomato flavour. Would not grow again.”
