This time of year I’m always pleased to see that the trees look like they’ll produce a reasonable harvest (the optimist in me, the weather always makes a difference). Anyway, the eater is showing a good helping of blossom. The cooker is always a couple of weeks later so that is yet to come.
Surprisingly, this year the crab apple has few if any flowers, last year it was heavy with blossom although there wasn’t much in the way of fruit (not that we have any use for it).
All in all, spring is on the way which means I’m sowing the things I hope to harvest later in the year. The potatoes have popped their heads up and the strawberries are flowering. Also had the first few lettuce leaves.
